It said that we would be surrounded by so many robots and machines to help us with the daily tasks of life, that we would be able to spend most of our time dedicated to creative pursuits and enjoy our hobbies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, we are definitely surrounded by incredible technology but unfortunately it\u2019s only allowed us to move at an even faster pace and to \u201cget more done\u201d in a day than ever before. A fact that contributes to our ever growing lists and insatiable need to plan and look ahead to make sure we\u2019re not missing the next thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about it: it takes virtually no time to communicate with someone who lives on the other side of the world. You used to have to send a letter that would travel by train and boat to reach its destination, a process that would take weeks to complete. Now? All you have to do is type a note into your computer and hit that \u201csend\u201d button and your message will be received by the other person within minutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s incredible and almost inconceivable if you think about it too hard. And it\u2019s fast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This type of fast and easy access to everything in our lives contributes to the rapid pace of our lifestyle today. It makes it easier to think ahead and plan for the future, faster than ever before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, there\u2019s something that I want to remind us all of in today\u2019s episode. It\u2019s something that mystics and philosophers throughout history, for thousands of years, have known: you are only ever here, now and in the present.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In my personal experience, I found that always looking ahead and trying to live life like it\u2019s a race is not only unsustainable, it\u2019s not enjoyable.
